Ayaz I. A. Khan

Mobile Journalism and Mobile Film Trainer

Ayaz Khan is a multimedia trainer, researcher, and technology specialist who has been pioneering the development of mobile journalism (mojo) and mobile filming in Pakistan since 2016. He is associated with Express News and also works with various media organizations and top universities in Pakistan. He has conducted training sessions for hundreds of journalists, media professionals, activists, and students at institutions such as CEJ IBA, Global Neighbourhood for Media Innovation (GNMI), Society of International Education (SIE), Deutsche Welle (DW), Virtual University, Press Information Department (PID), Pakistan Information Centre (PIC), Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ), WWF, and several other top universities across Pakistan.
He has served as a trainer for the National Fellowship Program organized by the National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW), United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Rozan, and CEJ since 2021.

Ayaz Khan also made history by producing Pakistan’s first mobile film in February 2019, entirely created using a mobile phone for filming, editing, and subsequently broadcasted on five major channels in Pakistan. Additionally, his short film “Zareen” achieved recognition when it was selected for “The Lift-Off Sessions” at the World Best Film Festival and Screenplay Contest in October 2019.

He actively contributes to the film community as a jury member of the Dhaka International Mobile Film Festival and serves as Chairman of the Jury Board at the Community Digital Storytelling Festival.

Gibran Ashraf

Multimedia Journalist and Mobile Journalism Trainer

Gibran is career journalist and journalism trainer. He has worked with notable English language newspapers and after moving into the digital realm, his focus is on multiple digital platforms and mediums, including mobile journalism.

Gibran has trained mid-career journalists and government officials on digital and mobile journalism in collaboration with the Centre for Excellence in Journalism (CEJ) at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) and Medill University.

He regularly works with university students, journalists and humanitarian workers on the use of social media and smartphones.

Noreen Shams

Multimedia Journalist and Mobile Journalism Trainer

Noreen is a multimedia journalist with ten years of experience in print and digital media. She has trained countless journalists, media professionals and students on mobile journalism and is regular contributor of video stories to Reuters TV.

As a former Chevening fellow, Noreen hosts a radio show on social media and citizen journalism on FM 107. Noreen was also selected for a short-term assignment at CNN Headquarters in the U.S. by the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ).

Khalid Anwar

Business Development Manager

Khalid is a business development professional with more than a decade of experience in marketing and project management. He has facilitated numerous training programs on mobile journalism.

He also works as a content creator for MOJO Pakistan and has played a key role in Pakistan’s first short films made entirely by smartphones

Nida Khan

Multimedia Journalist and Blogs Editor

Nida Khan is a multimedia journalist with fifteen years of experience in front of the camera as an actor as well as in the capacity of a print, TV and digital media experience. She also mentors for Special Olympics Pakistan and has been part of various trainings for many diverse groups of students, journalists and other professionals.

Nida has also hosted radio shows on FM 91 and FM 107, while her certification and on going diploma in psychotherapy adds another dimension to her profile, enabling her to connect with people better.
